Seven first places, four second places, one third place, and two OLX distinctions — this is the result with which Dr Malou concluded its participation in this year's gala during the Future Pet Food trade fair at Expo Kielce. In total, the brand won 14 awards and distinctions, and the event organizer confirmed: it was Dr Malou's products that received the most statuettes.
Behind this success lies more than just the number of trophies collected. What stands out most is the wide range of the awarded offer: from complete dog and cat foods, through recipes for puppies and kittens, to treats and supplements for daily meals. Being recognized for such diverse products makes this year's result particularly significant for the brand.
Evaluation by independent specialists
The awards were decided by an independent jury of experts. According to the organizer's information, the competition committee brings together specialists from the feed market, veterinary doctors and nutritionists, veterinary technicians, behaviorists, and trainers. Such a wide range of expertise allows for looking at the submitted products from various perspectives — from animal nutrition to the practical application of foods and treats.
The chairwoman of the jury for the Pet Choice Award 2026 was Dr. Martyna Wilk, a specialist in the field of animal nutrition, microbiome, and gastrointestinal health. The participation of experts gives the competition distinctions special significance: behind the choice of winners lies the assessment of people professionally involved in the topics of nutrition, health, and animal needs.

Two additional OLX distinctions
A separate highlight of the gala were the OLX distinctions. Two out of the three awarded during the event went to Dr Malou. They were received by:
-
"Capelin (Smelt) 100%" — freeze-dried treat for dogs and cats.
-
"Chicken with Goat Milk and Egg Yolk" — freeze-dried complete food for kittens up to 12 months of age.
Both products were also among the Pet Choice Award 2026 winners, thus gaining recognition in two separate distinctions during the same gala.
From a daily meal to a favorite treat
The awarded offer responds to various situations in a pet owner's life: choosing a basic food, diversifying a meal, or finding a treat that can be given during playtime. Complete food and snacks serve different functions in a diet, but from the buyer's perspective, they are connected by one question: what is actually going into my pet's bowl?
Dr Malou builds its offer around freeze-drying. In this year's list of winners, this technology was present in both the brand's complete foods and complementary products. The result shows how widely it has been applied in its portfolio — covering daily nutrition as well as smaller, additional portions given between meals.
Industry awards are an important moment in a brand's development: they allow one to pause and show the results of work that usually remains behind the scenes. Developing a product, refining its form, and building a coherent offer is a process much longer than the moment of receiving a statuette. That is why such a wide range of awarded proposals deserves attention.
For dog and cat owners, the competition success can be an impulse to get to know Dr Malou better. For the brand itself, it is also a commitment — the interest gained during the gala must be maintained every day through product quality and customer experience.
Fourteen awards and distinctions, including seven first places, create a strong chapter in the history of Dr Malou. The most important continuation, however, takes place off the trade fair stage: at the bowls of the dogs and cats for whom these products are created.
