To find out, we took to the streets of Sopot and spoke directly with dog owners and people who interact with animals on a daily basis. Our street survey allowed us to gather the genuine opinions of both local residents and tourists. We wanted honest answers—no scripts or suggestions.
The conversations quickly revealed that the topic of dog nutrition evokes strong emotions and is incredibly important to many people. We heard both thoughtful, experience-based statements and surprising stories related to our pets' everyday food choices.
Why do field conversations matter?
Face-to-face conversations allow for a better understanding of how dog owners make feeding decisions. It's not just about choosing a specific food, but also about caring for the animal's health, well-being, and longevity. Such conversations reveal real needs, concerns, and beliefs that online surveys simply can't capture.
The most interesting conclusions from the talks in Sopot
Respondents were eager to share their experiences with dog diets—from dry and wet food, through homemade diets, to a more informed approach to product composition and quality. The need for reliable knowledge and trust in sources of information regarding pet nutrition was clearly evident.
The diversity of opinions has shown that there is no one-size-fits-all solution, and dietary choices are often the result of individual experiences, specialist recommendations, and observations of the dog's response to a given diet.
What follows from this?
The street survey confirmed that conversations with dog owners are a valuable source of knowledge. Thanks to them, we can better understand the real needs of animals and their owners and create nutritional solutions based on facts, experience, and concern for dogs' health.
